use SKIM64 which will dump the files to the game'due south directory. run the game, and open up the config console with ctrl, shift and backspace. ready your preferences in there. Most of the stuff has tooltips to say what it does.

manual, go the latest version'due south 7zip file and unzip it to the folder where nier'due south exe is. then follow the aforementioned steps equally higher up to configure it. if you lot install it manually, make sure to grab the required microsoft vc redistibutable files (both x86 and x64 versions (x64 may exist the only needed one though))

Alright, then I installed it manually. I then launched the game and before it opened, FAR asked me if I wanted to try and update. I hit yes and it downloaded something but and then failed.

WIll that cause whatever problems?

FAR does show up in game.

Just told you not to accept information technology in essence for reasons I mentioned in post script:

This is also why it'southward not recommended to use manual installation because of it but I empathise some people might find more attractive unlike automatic instalaltion considering it's buggy sometimes and sometimes not.

I had a memory leakage in the last battle with Steve. Later on another manual installation got a memory access violation mistake in the city'southward ruins (again?). I dunno whether the creator of this mod is mining an ethereum while you are playing this game . Non-modified game runs without crashes, but impactful fps drops and preloadings are encountered.

If yous suspect there is some problems with modern go to his tech support thread (which you take link to in guide as well about top) and if possible provide any logs you lot might accept (they should have extension *.log) every bit described in tech support.

Aye, sorry. I'd really already accepted it before I read your original post. I should be fine to simply start playing through correct?

EDIT: I uninstalled FAR manually. For some reason in my Nier folder there was a SKIM64.exe. I kept that and ran it and the car installer worked and updated this time for some reason. I might have been trying the non 64 version before. Distressing bout that.

Everything seems to be good now.
